Report Cards have been distributed and I am now fighting the usual post-report card virus. I think it is the stress. No matter how I plan to avoid the last minute flurry of marking and assignment collecting it inevitably happens. There are students, I have begun to understand, that cannot work unless a large deadline is about to drop on them. Think the cartoon anvil/piano dropping from the sky. So we are all going to work on some pen and ink designs with a dash of some art history. And there will also be ubiquitos knitting :)
Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends and Happy Weekend to everyone else!

Moving right along
The clay is dry, finally, and now we can put the oxide on it in preparation for firing. This will be a positive move forward. The grade nine class has completed their letter shaped paintings and they are proudly displayed at the front of the room. We have already received many compliments. I love when a project turns out so well. So enjoy the rest of Monday and I will see you in room 3. (or room <3 if you prefer)

Someone moved the calendar!
It seemed like yesterday it was October and now it's November. With all the creating going on in room 3 I haven't made time to clean or to mark so now I need to take the room to task and get it organized. I am very pleased with the painting that the grade nine classes are doing. The grade ten class needs to get serious about their thumbnail sketches so we can get their paintings underway. Other than that the sun is shining and all that yucky October weather seems (knock on wood) to have moved along . So that's what I need to do - move along. Take care and see you in the art room!
